SUMMARY:Zen Space Yoga Teacher Training/Yoga Immersive 2022
DESCRIPTION:This 350 hour Yoga Teacher Training/Yoga Intensive course will commence on Saturday 26th February 2022 and finish in November 2022. Consisting of 9 weekends (1 weekend per month between February and November 2022) plus a 5-day retreat\, this Yoga Australia approved training will take you on a journey of self discovery and self awareness to enrich your life in many ways. Successful completion will enable you to become a fully registered and insured Level 1 yoga teacher with Yoga Australia. \nYou can also take the course for your own personal enjoyment and deepening into yoga. \nThe course will cover the physical practice of asana that you are familiar with from your attendance at at yoga classes\, exploring in detail the standing\, seated\, upside down\, supine and balancing shapes  including forward bends\, backbends\, hip openers\, lateral extensions\, arm balances and inversions (90 hours in total). Additionally you will come to understand many aspects of yoga not usually taught at class including: \n\nyogic history and philosophy;\nmany types of pranayama (breathwork) and why\, how and when to use them;\nmeditation techniques and their effect on your mind and body;\nancient Ayurvedic principles and their modern-day applications;\nyogic physiology with an in-depth study of the chakras and other energy fields;\ntraditional anatomy and physiology and how to use this knowledge in asana;\nthe techniques of teaching such as observation\, voice awareness\, language and communication\, giving options\,  adjusting for injury and other needs;\nand much much more!\n\n  \nYour Commitment \nThe Course comprises: \n\n9 x 2-day in class weekends 7am to 5pm (dates below)\n1 x 5-day retreat in September 2022\nTwo hours per week home practice of the techniques studied at weekend workshops\nTwo hours homework per month on topics covered at weekend workshops\n1 free class per week with Wen\n\nTogether these activities make up the 350 hours required to qualify you as a Registered Level 1 Teacher with Yoga Australia. \n  \nCourse Dates 2022 \nSaturdays and Sundays\, commence at 7am and end at 5pm. There will be a 30 minute breakfast break at 9am; a 1 hour lunch break between 12:30 and 1:30p; and a 10 minute break around 3.30pm. \n \n  \nHow to Apply for this Course \nHave a genuine intention to fully engage as the course requires a personal commitment of your time\, energy and finances – so please approach it with a noble intention to complete all requirements. \nThe cost is $5500 paid in 5 instalments of $1\,100 across the year. A 14-day cooling-off period then applies. If you withdraw during this time a $100 refund will be given. SUMMARY:Rhythm and Harmony of Peppermint
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is a collaboration between Djulz Chambers (founder of Melbourne-based Soul Circles Drumming) and Peter Hunt (composer\, musician and lead lyricist of Kooii). It is an invitation to participate in the creation of a collectively generated musical experience inspired by the energy of all who attend and by the vibration of the peppermint plant. The workshop will apply the powerful language of the West-African Djembe and percussion ensemble\, as well as the strength of breath and song\, to amplify our intentions for healing and communion. \nWe will open by merging our attention with the essence of peppermint\, which may be used to affectively clear the mind of its distractions and to establish mental clarity. This may be particularly so in relation to the perspectives one would wish to hold. We will be offered the opportunity to focus on this intention by engaging with movement\, breath and tonal exercises to open our session together. \nYou will then be guided in the production of a complete drum arrangement that resonates with the vibration of this sacred plant\, as well as given opportunities to expand into your own rhythmic expression with basic tools of improvisation. Further\, you will be guided in the development of your vocal expression to expound the beauty and wisdom of what lies within\, and to relate to the drumming experience in a different way. This will be initiated by uniting our breath\, movement and natural tones and culminate in a harmonic arrangement that lends itself to each individual’s unique sound. \nNo previous musical experience is necessary\, and drums may be provided on request. Please be in touch if you wish to hire one for the session via djulz@soulcirclesdrumming.com. \nAbout the Facilitators: \nDJULZ CHAMBERS \nFor more than a decade since her initiation into the art-forms of drumming and storytelling in Burkina Faso (West Africa)\, Djulz Chambers has been in dedicated service to communities around the world via her application of both modalities. Soul Circles Drumming offers sessions based on the wisdom of the natural world\, that are immensely successful in orientating individuals to their chosen path of healing and expression of their own unique creativity. They integrate universal wisdom referring us to our elemental bodies and to our relationships through a myriad of meditative exercises\, and offer fully facilitated West-African inspired drumming arrangements that serve to activate each person’s intentions. These sessions provide a valuable complement to other modalities promoting personal growth and healing\, as well as standing on their own in the interests of cultivating self-sovereignty and embodying ancestral wisdom. \nPETER HUNT \nMulti-instrumentalist and composer Peter Hunt integrates the influence of jazz and reggae music\, as well as traditional African and folk music\, in his vast repertoire. Though best known as Kooii’s singer\, songwriter and trumpet player\, Peter is a highly active collaborator with a significant way of composition that creates and imaginative space for musicians and listeners to feel themselves in the music. Outside of his immediate family of collaborating musicians\, he offers this space and way to the wider community in intimate song gatherings. Within these gatherings\, individuals are invited to relax into and activate their voice with the support of their community – lending to a group expression that transcends the sum of its parts and becomes a ‘medicine’ for all.
