Moving Connections
March 17, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
In this workshop we will explore movement, expression, curiosity and play. We will conduct a moving inquiry into our relationship with ourselves, each other and our environment, drawing inspiration from (and venturing into) the surrounding bush and grass, supported by sound and art.
Georgia Shine will lead the group as facilitator/cellist with guest musicians Elliot Thompson (guitar) and Caleb College (percussion and ambient electronics). Together we will uncover the beauty that is always within and around us when we move with and see what is really there. The workshop is about the process of free expression and improvisation. The methods used are inspired by a number of different movement and connection practices, and synthesized by the group itself in the process of the workshop. Each event is unique and everyone is welcome exactly as they are.
No previous dance experience is required, just curiosity, a mind and a body. Come and explore the interconnection between all things!
This is a 6 hour workshop, from 12-6pm, with breaks throughout. Please bring a plate of food to share if you would like to contribute to what will already be provided (tea, coffee and snacks).
Places are limited to 20 max.

* Clicking ‘GOING’ doesn’t actually secure your place until you have paid online. We will be taking bookings at the door at this stage but it is likely to sell out. So you can do so, but at your own risk!
We will be dropping away layers of social conditioning in order to be fully present and authentic in this immersion into sound, space and movement. Please note the timing of the workshop to ensure that you can commit to the container we will be creating together, and arrive so that we can start at 12pm.
10% of all proceeds go to C2Ci Australia, a not for profit organization promoting Nonviolent Communication.
